Speaker: Krishna, addressing Arjuna.

The shloka

विहाय कामान्यः सर्वान्पुमांश्चरति निःस्पृहः ।
निर्ममो निरहङ्कारः स शान्तिमधिगच्छति ॥ ७१ ॥

Brief meaning

A person who moves free from craving, possessiveness and ego-centred insistence attains peace, Krishna says.

In the conversation

The chapter closes with freedom from craving, possessiveness and ego-centred insistence, and names the state grounded in Brahman. The horizon is liberation, not simply an efficient or pleasant lifestyle. Let the practical reflection remain a beginning in that direction rather than a claim that a small exercise completes the teaching.

Everyday reflection

Think of a shared project that went well. Can you acknowledge your contribution without needing to own all the credit? Name the people who helped, notice what you received and consider what can be passed forward. A quieter relationship with “mine” can make room for gratitude and responsibility together. Review the chapter’s movement from Arjuna’s grief to steady wisdom, then choose one practice to revisit. The next chapter will take the question of action further. What will you carry into tomorrow?

Consider today: Perform one act of care without seeking ownership or credit.
