Our original brief meaning and reflection accompany the Sanskrit below.
Context, Sanskrit and lesson transcript
Sanjaya resumes his account to King Dhritarashtra and describes what Arjuna does after speaking.
सञ्जय उवाच।
एवमुक्त्वार्जुनः सङ्ख्ये रथोपस्थ उपाविशत्।
विसृज्य सशरं चापं शोकसंविग्नमानसः॥४७॥
Brief meaning, in our own words. Sanjaya says that Arjuna, overwhelmed by sorrow, puts aside his bow and arrows and sits down on the chariot.
Chapter One closes with Arjuna’s grief and uncertainty. The battle has not ended, and his questions have not yet been resolved. Chapter Two continues from this crisis, opening the way for Krishna’s response.
Here is our everyday reflection. There are moments when an honest admission of confusion becomes the beginning of learning. Let your next step be a sincere question, and the willingness to listen.
We continue with Chapter Two.
