Context, Sanskrit and lesson transcript
Duryodhana now names the leading warriors he is counting on.
भवान्भीष्मश्च कर्णश्च कृपश्च समितिञ्जयः।
अश्वत्थामा विकर्णश्च सौमदत्तिस्तथैव च॥८॥
Brief meaning, in our own words. He includes Drona himself, Bhishma, Karna, Kripa, Ashvatthama, Vikarna and Somadatta’s son.
This list introduces important people in the wider story. Naming them here does not settle every question about their choices or their roles in the war.
Here is our everyday reflection. When you make a plan, remember that support comes from people with their own responsibilities. Ask what someone can realistically offer, rather than assuming unlimited availability.
